Haters won’t acknowledge Nigeria’s progress under Tinubu – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu's administration has been receiving criticism from those who refuse to acknowledge the progress Nigeria has made under its leadership, according to the presidency. Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga stated that only those with a vested interest in political power and those blinded by hatred will deny the positive changes that have taken place.

Onanuga's remarks came in response to a tweet by @finplanKaluAja1, who claimed that nothing has changed in Nigeria. The tweet highlighted that despite an increase in revenue, expenses, the deficit, and national debt, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) continues to borrow to pay salaries. Onanuga responded by pointing out several areas where the Tinubu administration has made significant strides, including the stability of universities, the ability of state governors to pay their workers, the provision of education loans to students, the building of two superhighways across Nigeria, a growing trade surplus, a record $54 billion in foreign exchange reserves, and the ability of Nigerians to use their Naira cards abroad.

Onanuga emphasized that deficit financing is not a crime if it is not used to pay salaries. He also pointed out that the United States, despite having a strong economy, borrows to pay its government workers and owes over $40 trillion. The presidency concluded, stating that those who refuse to acknowledge Nigeria's progress under President Tinubu are "power mongers and those blinded by hate."
