Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk acquitted in murder-for-hire trial

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk was cleared of all charges on Friday in a federal murder-for-hire trial, a Los Angeles court reported. The rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, was accused of ordering the murder of rival rapper Quando Rondo in a 2022 daylight ambush in Los Angeles. Two co-defendants, Deandre Dontrell Wilson and David Brian Lindsey, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit stalking and related charges.

However, Banks was acquitted of all charges, including murder-for-hire. He remains in custody and faces a separate trial on related murder and weapons offenses on October 5th. The trial stemmed from the fatal shooting of Saviay Robinson, a cousin of Quando Rondo, who was mistakenly killed in a hail of gunfire during a botched execution of a plot allegedly ordered by Banks.
