Disyaki tertekan akibat bercerai, anak bunuh ibu di Tambunan

Kampung Katagayan in Tambunan, Sabah witnessed a tragic incident where a man, allegedly under immense stress from a recent divorce, killed his 56-year-old mother with a knife, according to Keningau Police Chief Erwansyah Abdul Basir. The 31-year-old suspect was reportedly recently divorced and believed to be under immense pressure.

The weapon used in the heinous act remains a subject of further investigation, including identifying the root cause of the dispute between the suspect and the victim. The suspect was apprehended seven days after the incident, possibly to assist the investigation under Section 302 of the Criminal Force Act, which deals with causing hurt.

Several items related to the crime are believed to have been stolen and recovered by the investigative and forensic teams after their scrutiny of the scene. The victim's 56-year-old son was initially found dead at a rented house in Kampung Katagayan, with injuries indicating a traumatic event. Later, the suspect was taken to a pond in Kampung Sukung for questioning before being transferred to Tambunan Police Station.
