Disyaki tertekan akibat bercerai, anak bunuh ibu di Tambunan

Kampung Katagayan, Tambunan, Sabah witnessed a tragic incident where a man in his 30s brutally murdered his 56-year-old mother using a knife, just seven days after their separation due to marital problems, according to the Keningau Police Chief Erwansyah Abdul Basir. The police stated that the initial investigation revealed the suspect was recently divorced and was under significant pressure.

The murder weapon, believed to be a knife, is still under further investigation, including identifying the true cause of the altercation between the suspect and the victim. The suspect was arrested seven days after the crime, possibly to assist with the investigation under Section 302 of the Criminal Force Act, which pertains to causing hurt, reported Harian Metro.

Several pieces of evidence in the case were reportedly stolen after the police and forensic teams conducted their examination at the scene. The victim, a 56-year-old woman, was found dead due to injuries at a rented house in Kampung Katagayan on the afternoon of the fatal day. The suspect was later apprehended by residents in a pondok (village house) in Kampung Sukung before being taken to Tambunan Police Station.
