Denkyira traditional council calls for removal of Central North police commander and DCE

The Denkyira Traditional Council has urged the government to promptly remove the Central North Police Commander, Abraham Acquaye, and Upper Denkyira West District Chief Executive, Isaac Nsiah, from their positions. These calls came after the council alleged that both officials were involved in actions that undermined the peace and stability of Denkyira State.

During a press conference at Amponsem Ahenfie in Dunkwa, Barima Siaw Panin III, the Denkyira Gyaasehene, spoke on behalf of the council, expressing concerns over the officials’ conduct concerning chieftaincy matters and maintaining peace. The council claimed that the Central North Police Commander had shown support for Dunkwahene Obeng Nuako III, disregarding the authority of Denkyira Omanhene.

They further accused the DCE for interfering with chieftaincy affairs, which could exacerbate tensions and undermine traditional leadership. The traditional authorities called on the government to remove the two officials immediately, stating that their continued presence could further threaten the peace and stability of the Denkyira State.

They advised government officials to collaborate with traditional leaders to maintain peace, rather than take actions that could deepen divisions. The council reaffirmed its commitment to peace and the protection of Denkyira traditional leadership's dignity and authority, insisting that the government must address these concerns promptly.
