Amusan pockets $75k for Ultimate Champs silver

Tobi Amusan secured $75,000 in silver at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary. She finished second in the women's 100m hurdles, clocking 12.34 seconds, behind American Masai Russell, who claimed the $150,000 top prize with a time of 12.22 seconds. Amusan advanced to the final after placing second in the semi-final.

Despite being edged out by Devynne Charlton in the semi-final, Amusan still managed to advance to the final. Russell, who also set the fastest time in the semi-finals, claimed the $150,000 winner's purse. Amusan's silver medal marks the end of a season where she continued to compete at the highest level, despite losing her world record to Russell.

Russell's dominant performance this season led to her winning consecutive times ahead of Amusan, including at the Zurich Diamond League and Diamond League Final.
