Additionally, the government plans to enhance logistics for high-value agricultural exports, including cut flowers, vegetables, and fruits, through the Tamale Air Cargo Hub. This hub will facilitate the transportation of high-value agricultural products along the Daboya-Singa pathway via air freight to markets in Europe, Ghana, West Africa, the Gulf, and other destinations.
Tanoh referenced Kenya's thriving flower industry, which generated $556 million from flower exports in the previous year. In contrast, Ghana exported approximately $75 million worth of mangoes to 42 markets in 2024. Comparing Ghana to Kenya, Tanoh pointed out the potential for Ghana to respond effectively to international demand, as evidenced by the additional cargo aircraft contracted to transport flowers to European markets for Valentine's Day last year.
