WAFU B Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa protest final defeat to Edo Queens

Ghanaian club Ampem Darkoa Ladies have lodged a formal protest against their final defeat to Edo Queens in the 2026 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League. The management of Ampem Darkoa has submitted their protest to both WAFU-B and the Confederation of African Football, CAF, regarding the decision to proceed directly to a penalty shoot-out after their match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Edo Queens triumphed in the penalty shoot-out with a score of 4-1, securing their second WAFU-B title. Ampem Darkoa maintains that they were not notified about the direct move to penalties and argue that it goes against the CAF Women’s Champions League Regulations. The Ghanaian side is requesting that the extra 30 minutes of play be reinstated or that the match be resumed from where it left off prior to the penalty shootout. The protest is now awaiting evaluation by the concerned WAFU-B and CAF authorities.
