Gauff fought back to force a tiebreak, but Rybakina came through with another break to win the set 6-4. The decisive third set was more competitive, with Rybakina missing two break-point opportunities early on. However, she eventually created another chance in the eighth game and converted it to lead 5-3. Gauff fought back again, breaking serve to level the set.

But Rybakina responded instantly, breaking Gauff once more to clinch the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. The 27-year-old Rybakina's victory keeps her on track for a third Grand Slam title, following her recent accomplishment of becoming the world No. 1 for the first time in her career.
