Urhobo Traditional Rulers Back Oborevwori’s Re-election

The Urhobo traditional rulers have endorsed the re-election bid of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the 2027 general election. This decision was made by the leadership of Urhobo traditional rulers, represented by Ukoko R’ Ivie R’ Urhobo, under the guidance of HRM Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom. The traditional rulers expressed their stance due to concerns over escalating political tensions, hostility, and political thuggery in Urhobo land.

They emphasized that politics should be a peaceful civic engagement and not a do-or-die affair. The traditional rulers urged the Urhobo governorship candidates to set aside their ambitions and rally behind the incumbent governor. They declared Governor Oborevwori as the sole candidate of the Urhobo nation for the 2027 governorship election, citing his record of development in Delta State.

They further called upon all Urhobo people to vote en masse for Oborevwori, highlighting his illustrious background as a son of the Urhobo nation. The traditional rulers stressed that while every Urhobo individual has the right to aspire to high political offices, they must prioritize the collective interest and unity of the nation over individual ambitions.
