Umno, Pas tie-up a win-win for both parties, say analysts [WATCH]

Political analysts believe that a partnership between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pas would likely benefit both parties more than collaboration with Pakatan Harapan (PH). Dr Lau Zhe Wei stated that BN would have better chances of winning more seats and securing the top leadership position through cooperation with Pas compared to working with PH.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that BN could undergo an "evolution" by forging a strategic partnership with another political force, suggesting that a partnership with Pas would be more suitable than with PH. This view was supported by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Associate Professor Dr Mazlan Ali, who argued that BN and Pas could consolidate Malay votes, enabling them to compete more effectively in future elections. However, the main challenge lies in reaching a fair seat-sharing agreement between the two parties.
