UiTM probes alleged sale of hostel room placements at Puncak Alam

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Selangor is investigating allegations that hostel room placements at its Puncak Alam campus were being sold. The claims originated from recent posts on the social media platform Threads, and involved rooms at Casuarina Residential College.

UiTM Selangor stated that campus management is handling the matter seriously and is gathering information to determine whether the allegations hold any merit. In a statement released, the university emphasized that any action taken would be based on the outcome of the investigation and the university's established regulations.

The university reminded students that they were strictly prohibited from selling, transferring or exchanging their residential college placements with other parties. Moreover, all accommodation-related applications and arrangements must be processed through UiTM's official channels and procedures.

Students were warned to exercise caution when encountering unauthorised or suspicious offers for hostel placements, as falling for such scams could result in an undesirable situation. Those found guilty of breaching university regulations could face disciplinary action, according to UiTM Selangor.

Furthermore, the university urged students who have information about the alleged sale of room placements to report it through the university's official channels. UiTM Selangor highlighted that student cooperation was crucial in maintaining the security, welfare and integrity of the residential college community.
