Townsend, Siniakova win US Open doubles for career Grand Slam together

Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend clinched the women's doubles title at the US Open on Friday, adding to their career Grand Slam. The top-seeded pair overcame Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery, who had previously won the 2021 girls' doubles championship. American Townsend secured her first US Open doubles championship, while Siniakova claimed her 12th Grand Slam women's doubles title, marking her second career Grand Slam. Together, they had already triumphed at Wimbledon in 2024, the Australian Open in 2025, and the French Open this year.

Initially, the pair appeared tense when they were broken in their opening service game. However, they quickly rallied to tie the set at 4-4, ultimately securing the set when Siniakova double-faulted three times in the final game. The match concluded with ten deuces in the final game, with Siniakova committing another double fault before Townsend sealed the victory with her first match point.
