Townsend, Siniakova win US Open doubles for career Grand Slam together

Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend clinched victory at the US Open women's doubles final on Friday, clinching a career doubles Grand Slam. The top seeds had not lost a set in their first four matches, but they overcame a challenging opening frame against 2021 girls doubles champions Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery.

Townsend and Siniakova, who had previously won Wimbledon in 2024, the Australian Open in 2025, and the French Open, showcased their firepower to triumph 5-7, 6-0, 6-2. Townsend secured her first US Open doubles title in this historic win.

For Siniakova, it marked her 12th Grand Slam women's doubles title and her second career Grand Slam. She had previously won all four majors with her previous longtime partner, Barbora Krejcikova. The duo appeared somewhat tense during their first service game, but quickly regrouped to level the set at 4-4. Despite some notable serving errors from Krueger in the final game, Siniakova and Townsend powered through, closing out the match on their first match point.
