Tano South MP supports 300 SHS students with educational supplies

The Member of Parliament for Tano South, Charles Asiedu, has stepped forward to assist 300 Senior High School students by providing them with educational supplies and financial aid to make their education more affordable. In rural areas of Tano South Municipality in Ahafo Region, parents have long faced difficulties in affording essential items for their children's SHS admission, including mattresses, scientific calculators, exercise books, and chop boxes.

Recognizing this challenge, Mr Asiedu distributed complimentary SHS prospectus kits and financial assistance to the 300 beneficiaries. Each recipient received a comprehensive package consisting of a top box, a student mattress, a scientific calculator, and exercise books. Additionally, students were given tokens to cover their transportation expenses to their respective campuses.

The initiative, hailed as a first of its kind in Tano South, aims to motivate students to take their education seriously and inspire those in the community to prioritize their studies. Head of Supervision at the Tano South Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, Charles Brobbey, commended the MP's efforts and described the initiative as a significant boost for the students.

A parent whose daughter gained admission with an aggregate seven praised the intervention for alleviating the family's financial burden and ensuring her daughter would not have to purchase numerous items for her boarding school. Similarly, a beneficiary expressed their gratitude and commitment to working hard in school, acknowledging the financial relief the support provided to families by decreasing their expenses on necessary school supplies.
