Sikaa Presby Basic School gets new classroom block after years of leaking roofs

Pupils at Sikaa Presby Basic School in the Nkoranza North District of the Bono East Region can now attend classes in a safe and comfortable environment after the construction of a new three-unit classroom block by the Nkoranza North District Assembly. This development comes after years of struggling with a dilapidated classroom block that leaked during heavy rains.

The roof was even ripped off during a rainstorm, disrupting academic activities and causing many pupils to miss school. Headmaster Richard Benjamin recounted the difficulties caused by the old structure, which often resulted in absenteeism as pupils and teachers had to stay home due to the leaking classrooms. The new classroom block is anticipated to restore normal teaching and learning conditions and increase student attendance.

During a visit to the school, Bono East Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi praised the Nkoranza North District Assembly for efficiently utilizing its resources, stating that the project will significantly enhance teaching and learning opportunities for the school and the surrounding community. He urged both the school authorities and the community to ensure proper maintenance of the facility, emphasizing that it is not only for the current students but also for future generations.

For the pupils and teachers at Sikaa Presby Basic School, the new classroom block symbolizes more than just a building; it provides them with a safe and dignified space to learn.
