Sheikh Hamdan visits Aster Pharmacy's distribution centre in Dubai

On Thursday, Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed paid a visit to Aster Pharmacy's distribution centre located in Dubai Industrial City. The sprawling 145,000-square-foot facility plays a pivotal role in managing medication distribution across the UAE and the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. During his tour, Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the facility's impressive operational capacity, which handles approximately 75,000 transactions daily, serviced through Aster's extensive network of 350 pharmacies, 120 clinics, and 15 hospitals.

Sheikh Hamdan commended the innovative strategies employed by Aster Pharmacy to optimize efficiency and streamline the precise delivery of medicines. He voiced his backing for the company's ongoing expansion efforts and its dedication to enhancing healthcare services in the UAE. The Crown Prince underscored the critical role played by the private sector in shaping an efficient and dependable healthcare system, emphasizing the necessity for collaboration between private and public entities to ensure the delivery of top-tier services that meet the community's demands for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

Accompanying Sheikh Hamdan on his visit were Dr Azad Moopen, the founder and chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, and Alisha Moopen, the managing director and group chief executive.
