Russian forces kill 9, injure 145 across Ukraine over past day as Moscow expands gas station strikes to Kyiv

Overnight, Russian forces carried out 161 attack drone strikes in Ukraine, resulting in at least nine deaths and 145 injuries, according to local authorities. The Ukrainian Air Force shot down or neutralized 138 of the drones, with hits occurring at 19 locations and three additional sites struck by debris from downed drones.

In Odesa, a Russian assault on a shopping center in the middle of the day led to five deaths and 67 injuries, including three children. In Dnipro, two people were killed and five others, including a 6-year-old girl, were injured in attacks on Sept. 10. Two more men were injured in overnight strikes in Dnipro, while one person was injured in the Nikopol district.

Russian strikes in Donetsk Oblast claimed one life and injured 29 residents in Kramatorsk over the past day. In Kyiv, Russian jet-powered drone attacks targeted civilian facilities, including a gas station, causing eight injuries. The Sept. 10 strike marked the first time Russian forces attacked a gas station in Kyiv, a development that is disrupting fuel distribution across the nation.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski arrived in Kyiv by train as Russian attacks continued. A woman was killed in a drone strike in Vyshhorod district, Kyiv Oblast on Sept. 11. In Kharkiv Oblast, a 49-year-old man was wounded by Russian shelling in Zolochiv settlement. In Kherson Oblast, nine people were injured in Russian attacks, and in Odesa, a warehouse containing humanitarian aid was damaged, resulting in two injuries.

In Sumy Oblast, 12 people, including four children, were injured by Russian glide-bomb strikes, and a woman was wounded in a separate drone strike. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, five people, including two children, were injured in attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district.
