Russian air strikes injure eight in Kyiv, Ukraine hits Ozon in Saratov

On September 11, Russian air strikes injured eight people and caused a fire in a nine-storey apartment building in Kyiv, Ukraine, according to city authorities. Moscow resumed attacks on Kyiv after a brief pause for a U.S. envoy's visit. Russia has been conducting near-constant air assaults on the Ukrainian capital since the Kremlin initiated the war in 2022 by invading Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones damaged civilian infrastructure in Saratov, a central Volga River city in Russia. The regional governor reported no casualties, but emphasized the absence of any injuries. Additionally, Ukrainian drone attacks caused a fire at an Ozon logistics hub in Saratov, joining over two dozen other warehouses owned by Ozon and its main competitor, Wildberries, that have recently been hit.

The Saratov region, a common target of Ukrainian air strikes, houses a significant oil refinery operated by Rosneft, a state-owned oil company, as well as various industrial and military facilities. In Volgograd, located south of Saratov on the Volga River, a missile attack injured two individuals when it struck a residential building, damaging nearby industrial facilities as well. However, the specifics regarding the industrial facility were not disclosed. Both Russia and Ukraine deny deliberately targeting civilians.
