Russia Launches First Commercial 5G Networks For First Time Since Nearly a Decade of Delays
Russia launched its first commercial 5G networks in 16 major cities on Friday, Sept. 11, reaching an estimated 10 million people. The rollout, ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin, follows nearly a decade of delays caused by Western sanctions, equipment shortages and a dispute over frequency bands.
