In 1926, when Subbulakshmi was merely ten years old, the Twin Record Company released her first recording, titled Marakatha Vadivum. The event, organized by the Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, will see the exhibition of the original 1926 disc during the celebrations. Subbulakshmi, born in 1916 into a family of performers, also starred in a few films before dedicating her life entirely to music.
