Judge actions by intentions – Daniel Etim Effiong tells fans, defends kissing scenes

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has defended his involvement in kissing scenes in movies, asserting that actions should be judged by a person's intentions rather than their outward appearance. In an online video, the actor challenged critics who condemn actors for participating in romantic scenes, drawing a comparison with medical professionals who examine intimate parts of the body.

"Would you ask this same question to a gynaecologist? Do you know who a gynaecologist is? Of course, a guy is a doctor, a medical doctor that saves lives and works with women and looks at the female genitals every day," Effiong stated.

According to Effiong, the morality of an action is determined by the condition of a person's heart, not just the act itself. He cited biblical teachings, emphasizing that what originates from within a person holds greater significance than what is visible externally. The actor argued that even seemingly innocent actions, such as looking at someone or shaking their hand, could potentially be used for negative purposes, suggesting that such acts could, in certain circumstances, be more harmful than kissing.
