Police arrest woman over sexual abuse of minor, rescue four children

On September 10, 2026, the Anambra State Police Command made an arrest in connection to a case of child pornography in Onitsha, the commercial hub of the state. The individual taken into custody is 36-year-old Anulika Onyeanusia. The arrest came after a video went viral, showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, announced that during the arrest, four children were rescued, aged 2, 3, 6, and 9 years respectively. Additionally, sex toys and other items pertinent to the investigation were recovered.

The children have been prioritized for safety and care, with the police ensuring they receive the necessary support, including counselling. The Command is working in collaboration with relevant child-protection agencies to safeguard the well-being of the victims, ensuring their identities and privacy remain confidential.

The husband of the suspect is also undergoing interrogation to assess any potential connection to the alleged offence. Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji, expressed his deep concern over the incident, labeling it unacceptable, especially given the exploitation and abuse of children involved. The Command has directed a thorough investigation, with a strong emphasis on the recovery and protection of the rescued children.
