Police arrest woman over sexual abuse of minor, rescue four children

In Anambra State, Nigeria, police have arrested a 36-year-old woman named Anulika Onyeanusia in connection with an alleged case of child pornography. The woman was apprehended in Onitsha, the state's commercial hub, following the circulation of a disturbing video showing her allegedly using sex toys on a minor. The Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed on Thursday that during her arrest, officers also rescued four children aged two, three, six, and nine years, respectively.

They also recovered sex toys and other relevant items from the investigation. The suspect is currently in police custody while the command intensifies its probe into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons. Her husband is also being interrogated. Anambra's Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji, expressed deep distress over the act, deeming it unacceptable, especially considering the exploitation and abuse of children.

He has ordered a thorough investigation to ensure the rescued children receive proper care and protection. The police will collaborate with child-protection agencies to provide the victims with necessary support, maintaining their privacy and treating them with compassion throughout the process.
