Peguam Abdul Azeez Rahim, alongside Amer Hamzah Arshad, urged all parties to report the case based on facts and the true content of the accusations against former Tabung Haji chairman Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim. In an interview with PETALING JAYA, Amer Hamzah Arshad denied claims in social media that the government had seized Azeez's family's savings from Tabung Haji accounts.

Amer emphasized that the savings in Azeez's family's Tabung Haji accounts have no connection to the charges against Azeez and are also unrelated to Tabung Haji funds or assets. He further clarified that the mere existence of savings in Tabung Haji accounts does not imply that the money originated from Tabung Haji. Amer explained that the accounts and savings in them have become the subject of investigations by the authorities.

However, he stressed that the savings in the accounts have never been seized by the government, and there is no evidence that the money is stolen Tabung Haji funds or the result of illegal activities. On September 9th, Azeez pleaded not guilty in Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to charges of abusing his position to gain employment and benefits in another company.

He was accused of misusing his position as Tabung Haji chairman by instructing the then-executive chairman, Ismee Ismail, to nominate him as a representative of Tabung Haji in the Putrajaya Perdana board. Azeez was also accused of instructing Ismail to persuade Tabung Haji members during a board meeting to approve a RM193.5 million investment plan in Putrajaya Perdana, which he was allegedly interested in.

Amer responded to the claims linking Azeez and his family to Tabung Haji funds or assets, stating that Azeez was never charged with taking, hiding, or misusing RM193.5 million Tabung Haji funds for his or his family's benefit. Amer urged all parties to report the matter based on the facts and true content of the charges. Azeez's children and family members have rejected all claims, including the right to take legal action against any parties publishing, spreading false, misleading, or defamatory statements related to the matter.
