Pas welcomes 'blue-green' cooperation

Kota Baru: Pas has expressed openness to enhancing collaboration with Barisan Nasional, or the "blue-green" coalition, although certain aspects still need further clarification before any decisions are finalized. Deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man posited that any discrepancies between the parties could be resolved through sincerity and adherence to principles outlined by Allah.

Tuan Ibrahim underscored that Pas would deliberate on the matter at its monthly meeting, with a potential review by the Syura Council. The party's involvement in the upcoming Melaka election may mark the initial point of focus for this cooperation. Tuan Ibrahim highlighted Pas's enduring commitment to the unification of the Muslim community for the welfare of Muslims and Malays in Malaysia, emphasizing that this concept is not novel and remains a crucial agenda.

Meanwhile, Umno president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi suggested that Barisan Nasional could experience a transformation if it establishes a strategic alliance with another political entity, though he refrained from naming any specific party or coalition, suggesting that such a shift could occur when "blue meets green."
