Pakistan says no plans for military action in Yemen after attacks on Saudi Arabia

Pakistan has confirmed it has no plans for military action in Yemen following recent attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia, according to a Foreign Ministry spokesperson. The defense pact signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey in Mecca last month states that an attack on one of the three nations would be considered an attack on all three, according to Reuters.

However, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan stated that the agreement is only being activated if and when circumstances require it. The spokesperson added that Pakistan may act when the time comes, but there are currently no plans to expand the Mecca alliance amid ongoing regional tensions that are disrupting energy supplies.
