Pakistan says no military action planned over Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Pakistan has stated on Thursday that it is not currently contemplating any military response to the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, as part of their joint defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan made the declaration during a weekly media briefing, assuring that Pakistan would only resort to action under the agreement if and when circumstances demanded it.

The spokesperson emphasized that there were no such plans being discussed at the moment. The Houthi attacks occurred on several Saudi cities and affected the nation's energy infrastructure. The defense pact, which was inked last month, stipulates that an armed attack on any one of the three nations would be considered an attack on all three.

Pakistan has voiced its disapproval of the Houthi strikes and has urged Iran to exert control over its allies in Yemen. Meanwhile, Pakistan has also been serving as a mediator between the United States and Iran. Khan dismissed the possibility of expanding the Mecca alliance as regional tensions persistently disrupt energy supplies.
