A startup founded by former OpenAI and Stripe engineers has moved into the former ChatGPT maker's London office in a bid to serve the UK's leading fintech companies. Dust, an AI platform, has taken a lease at the Fora Building on Pentonville Road in King's Cross, marking its first formal expansion into the UK after launching from Paris in 2023 and a San Francisco presence in 2024.
The building previously housed OpenAI's first international office in 2024 before the tech giant secured a permanent location at Regent Quarter, set to open in early 2027. Dust's co-founder and CEO, Gabriel Hubert, confirmed to City AM that the UK is one of only three countries with a company office, alongside France and the US.
The startup aims to quickly scale by hiring additional staff and hopes to onboard the nation's top fintech firms as clients. Already, fintechs Truelayer and Paddle are among Dust's clients.
