Oborevwori’s Good Performance Will Ensure His Re-election in 2027, Says Ifeajika

Olisa Ifeajika, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor, has expressed confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's re-election bid in 2027. Governor Oborevwori's performance since taking office in 2023 has been a key factor in the electorate's support for his re-election, according to Ifeajika. Speaking on Politics HQ on News Central Television, Ifeajika emphasized that his support for Oborevwori is based on the governor's achievements in Delta State, not just party loyalty.

He clarified that the governor's statement about his political project to ensure President Bola Tinubu's re-election is not contradictory, as the governor is an APC member and supports the party's candidate. Ifeajika also highlighted the APC's strategy in Delta State, which revolves around presenting the achievements of the Oborevwori administration to the electorate.

He maintained that the governor's performance is self-evident and has led to widespread acclaim for his work. Ifeajika likened the current economic situation to farming, stating that difficult stages of clearing, planting, and weeding must precede harvest, which the country is currently undergoing. He also pointed out the improvement in salary payments to civil servants and pensioners since the removal of fuel subsidy.

Ifeajika emphasized that economic recovery will take time and urged Nigerians to view the current situation as part of a gradual process. Regarding the 2027 elections, the APC in Delta is focused on winning through its candidates' records and effectively communicating government policies and projects to the electorate. Ifeajika stressed that Governor Oborevwori's achievements have strengthened the relationship between the government and the people, making Delta State almost synonymous with the ruling party.
