Rodgers recounted the incident on September 10, stating that Woodley accepted his proposal but later confided to him her intention to pursue a relationship with someone else before they were set to wed.

According to Rodgers, Woodley took off her engagement ring by March, and they attempted multiple times to reconcile their relationship. Moreover, he refuted the notion that he was accountable for Woodley's reported depression following their separation, asserting that she informed him of her feelings and removed the ring by March.

Discussing the relationship publicly, Rodgers acknowledged that some narratives surrounding their breakup were inaccurate, claiming that many accounts portrayed events in a manner that benefited their respective reputations. The NFL star also criticized his ex-girlfriends, suggesting that their peak fame was during their association with him.
