Newborn’s body found in Dungun hostel locker

In Dungun, police discovered a newborn baby's body concealed in a hostel locker after the infant's mother gave birth in the institution's toilet. The victim was estimated to have been born at eight months of gestation and is suspected to have died shortly after. The 19-year-old student, who allegedly concealed the baby's body, placed it in a bag wrapped in cloth and deposited it in the locker.

The mosque's management alerted the educational facility when the student requested assistance for the baby's burial. Police interviewed witnesses and conducted a forensic examination of the scene before transporting the infant's remains to Dungun Hospital for a post-mortem. The incident is currently under investigation for the concealment of a birth, as outlined in Section 318 of the Penal Code.
