Navi Mumbai Traffic Police Prepare Ganeshotsav Plan With Atal Setu Diversions And 50 Extra Wardens For Traffic Control

Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have devised a special traffic management strategy to handle the anticipated influx of vehicles during Ganeshotsav. This plan involves diverting traffic through Uran Phata and Atal Setu, contingent upon traffic conditions, to alleviate congestion on Panvel and Kalamboli roads. The initiative covers a route from Kon Phata to Kalamboli. The traffic police are requesting 50 traffic wardens from the Panvel Municipal Corporation to bolster their traffic management capabilities.

A comprehensive assessment of the traffic scenario in Panvel and its surrounding regions has been carried out. This includes identification of potential congestion points, traffic hotspots, and accident-prone areas. Necessary precautions will be taken at these locations to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.

The rapid urbanization in Panvel, coupled with industrial growth and a surge in vehicle numbers, has put significant strain on the city's road infrastructure. In light of this, additional manpower will be deployed on key routes and traffic protocols will be adapted as required during Ganeshotsav.

Road works and pothole repairs are being given priority, with completion of flyover and side-road construction at Kon Phata anticipated ahead of the festival. Urgent repairs to potholes and road widening works are also being expedited in relevant locations.

Citizens and devotees are urged to cooperate with the deployed personnel, adhere to traffic rules, and avoid parking vehicles on roads, especially in crowded spots. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Navi Mumbai Police, Dr Rahul Khade, reiterated that the traffic police are well-prepared to ensure smooth vehicular movement and a hassle-free experience for all during the festival.
