Maharashtra FDA Destroys 500 Litres Of Suspected Adulterated Milk In Dombivli West’s Bhoirwadi, Probe Launched

In Dombivli West's Bhoirwadi area, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has destroyed around 500 litres of milk suspected to be adulterated. The milk, allegedly brought from Sangli, was found without a valid license. FDA officer Rajendra Kardak stated that the action was taken after receiving information about the suspected supply and sale of adulterated milk in the area.

During the inspection, suspected adulteration was discovered, leading to the complete destruction of the consignment. The investigation also revealed that the seller and distributor did not hold a valid license. Officials are now examining the duration of the operation and whether other individuals were involved in the transportation, storage, and distribution of the milk.

The supply chain from Sangli to Dombivli is under investigation, with several dairies in the Kalyan-Dombivli region suspected. The exact nature of the suspected adulteration is also under examination, and laboratory tests may be required. Considering the potential public health risk, the FDA ensured the entire stock was destroyed and could not reach consumers.

Further legal action will be taken based on the investigation's findings and food safety laws. The FDA is intensifying its scrutiny of the supply chain as the inquiry continues.
