Lonjakan undi Cina, India bukti kejayaan MCA, MIC, kata Asyraf

Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the Deputy President of Umno, claims that the MCA and MIC's leadership provides proof of the success of the Chinese and Indian support for the Barisan Nasional (BN). The recent surge in Chinese and Indian voter support for BN in the PRN Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections is a testament to their leadership, said Asyraf. He praised MCA President Wee Ka Siong and MIC President S Vigneswaran for their efforts in boosting this fresh support.

In 2022, Chinese voter support for BN in Johor stood at 9.5%, but in 2026 PRN, it surged five-fold to 20%. Likewise, in Negeri Sembilan, the trend was similar. Four years ago, Chinese support for BN was only 8.7%, which rose to 14% this year, he said at the Umno Annual Convention (PAU) 2026. As for Indian voters, BN's support in Johor skyrocketed to 54.8% in this year's PRN compared to just 18.9% in 2022. In Negeri Sembilan, Indian support for BN rose from 17.6% in 2022 to 49.6% in the last PRN in August.

During the PRN Johor on July 11, BN won 48 out of 56 parliamentary seats while the coalition won 18 out of 36 seats in Negeri Sembilan's PRN on August 1. BN has consistently garnered the highest number of Indian votes compared to other parties in both PRN years.
