Kissi Agyebeng declares Accra Academy Ghana’s foremost all-round school

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has declared Accra Academy as Ghana's premier all-round school, citing the impressive accomplishments of its alumni in various sectors. Speaking after the school's remarkable performance in the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Grand Finale, Agyebeng emphasized that a school's true value lies in the caliber and impact of its graduates.

He noted that Accra Academy has produced outstanding individuals in governance, law, business, entertainment, sports, and science. The prosecutor highlighted the school's significant role in Ghana's early scientific development, particularly the contributions of the J.F.O.L. Mustapha family, who birthed two of the country's first neurosurgeons.

While acknowledging that other schools have taken the lead in science and mathematics in recent years, Agyebeng vowed that Accra Academy would reclaim its position. He also praised the school's athletic prowess, noting that it produced two captains of Ghana's senior national football team, the Black Stars. Despite finishing as runners-up in the 2026 NSMQ, Agyebeng expressed confidence in the team's potential, stating that their experience had put pressure on the more seasoned competitors.

He urged the Eagles to utilize their newfound experience to fuel a stronger campaign in the upcoming NSMQ season. In a bid to bolster the team's academic performance, Agyebeng and other alumni presented laptops and other items to the NSMQ contestants. This gesture marks the beginning of a renewed commitment from the school's old boys to strengthen Accra Academy's presence in science and mathematics.
