Isu kuota RON95: Mengapa tak bantah dalam Jemaah Menteri, Adun persoal Zahid

Pahang state assemblyman Thulsi Manogaran questioned why Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi did not challenge the Malaysian government's reduction of the subsidy for monthly RON95 petrol during April, before increasing it again the following month. Manogaran, who is also the president of Umno, argued that Zahid, as a member of the government, should uphold the principle of accountability and raise any differences through the proper channels.

If he believed that reducing the subsidy from 300 to 200 liters was a mistake, he should openly express his opposition in the Cabinet meeting, according to the statement. Manogaran stated that the justification for the increase in the subsidy is a political maneuver aimed at the upcoming elections and is irresponsible and confusing.

He pointed out that the subsidy was reduced around April 1 in response to the escalation of the Hormuz Strait conflict, concerns over global fuel supply and security, and the need to manage subsidized fuel consumption and maintain the government's ability to respond to potential global supply disruptions. The facts are clear, and Zahid must be aware of them, according to Manogaran.
