Instagram Fame Rocks 12-Year Marriage In Bhopal As Woman Seeks Divorce After Followers Praise Her Looks

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: A marriage that lasted for 12 years is now on the verge of dissolution due to social media praise for the wife's appearance, which led her to believe her husband is unworthy of her beauty. The woman and her husband had tied the knot in 2014. Prior to moving in together, the woman resided in Bhopal while her husband was from a joint business family in Indore. They later moved to Indore with their two children, an 11-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son.

The wife's interest in creating reels and posting them on her Instagram account gained popularity, resulting in a surge in followers. Many of her admirers commented on her looks and charming personality. However, after years of marriage, the woman came to the conclusion that her husband was unattractive and did not deserve her. This shift in perspective led to escalating disputes between the couple, with the woman making unreasonable demands, such as expecting her husband to purchase a new house for her.

Despite her husband's refusal, the woman decided to relocate with her children to her parents' home in Bhopal.

The woman has sought refuge at the Bhopal Family Court, where she has filed for maintenance, divorce, and a complaint of harassment and domestic violence against her husband. Shail Awasthi, a counsellor at the court, explained that the husband claims he educated his wife, who was a school student at the time of their marriage, and invested Rs 4 lakh in a beauty salon to provide her with an independent income.

He also affirmed that he appeared as attractive at the time of marriage as he does now. However, the woman remains resolute in her demand for a divorce, with each party to take custody of one of their children.
