Inaugurato “MondoPasta” per promuovere quella di Gragnano

Gragnano has been celebrating its long history with the inauguration of "MondoPasta," a three-day event from September 11-13, themed "Mondopasta! Pasta Around the World." This event, organized by the Gragnano IGP Pasta Consortium in collaboration with the City and Campania Region, highlights the significance of Gragnano IGP Pasta, a symbol of Made in Italy excellence.

The festival features exhibits, workshops, and performances that delve into the cultural and culinary heritage of pasta. Notable highlights include the unveiling of a postage stamp dedicated to Gragnano IGP Pasta and the prestigious Culturale Lina Sastri Award, presented by sculptor Domenico Sepe, inspired by an ancient bronze artifact found in Gragnano's necropolis.

Participants will explore various interpretations of pasta, from Indian dishes like Dal Vesuvio to African flavors in Senegalese ragù, and Japanese Yakisoba made with Gragnano IGP Spaghetti. The event also includes a scholarship for Intercultura to study abroad, and participation from other conservation consorums, introducing ingredients like Pecorino Romano DOP, Grana Padano DOP, and others.

Through "Pastifici Aperti," open-kitchen experiences, and visits to the Valle dei Mulini, the festival offers a glimpse into Gragnano's productive culture and its pivotal role in pasta-making tradition.
