In a significant strategic gain, Houthis claim control of Yemen’s entire Red Sea coastline

In a major strategic triumph, Houthi forces have secured command of Yemen's full Red Sea coastline, according to Al Jazeera. The military advance unfolded over an 18-hour period, following the government forces' withdrawal from Mocha. This allowed Houthi fighters to advance southward with minimal resistance, ultimately seizing Dhubab and Murad, which were the last coastal towns held by the government.

Houthi forces had also reached Dhubaba, situated near the strategically important Bab al-Mandeb Strait. Subsequently, Houthi naval forces moved out to sea, claiming control of Mayyun Island in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and pushing into Zuqar Island, where fighting is still ongoing. These moves have granted the Yemeni movement control over a strategically crucial stretch of coastline, bringing them closer to gaining control of the Bab al-Mandeb, a vital maritime chokepoint linking the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden.
