Crypto investor pardoned by Trump donates £36 million to Farage's Reform UK

London, September 11 - Crypto investor Ben Delo has pledged a record £36 million donation to Britain's populist Reform UK, with plans to contribute £1 million per month ahead of the next national election. Delo, the British co-founder of crypto trading platform BitMEX and a convicted U.S. Bank Secrecy Act violation, received a pardon from President Donald Trump.

He aims to ensure fair competition against the two main parties in the UK - the governing Labour Party and the main opposition Conservatives. While Reform, led by Nigel Farage, held a commanding lead in opinion polls for over a year, its support has waned amid allegations of questionable donations. In an opinion piece, Delo suggested Reform should focus more on preparing for government rather than fundraising and criticized the party for spending time on raising funds instead of developing policies and legislation.

Farage, who suspended two senior aides involved in an undercover investigation, welcomed Delo's donation, stating he was honored and humbled by Delo's support. Delo has previously donated £8 million to Reform and emphasized his long-time support for the party, hoping to help it win and govern.
