Reform receives record £36m donation from crypto billionaire

Reform UK has received a record £36 million donation from British cryptocurrency billionaire Ben Delo, marking the largest single donation ever given to a political party in the UK. Party leader Nigel Farage expressed his honor and humility regarding the generous gift. Delo plans to move back to the UK from Hong Kong to continue his support for Reform UK. The donation comes amid scrutiny over Reform UK's fundraising practices, with police investigating allegations of foreign funding law violations and Farage facing potential disciplinary action for a £5 million cash gift from a Thai cryptocurrency investor.

Labour Party criticized Delo's donation, accusing Reform UK of attempting to circumvent democratic rules and suggested introducing a cap on political donations to ensure transparency and accountability.
