Constable martyred in Mastung attack

On Thursday, a police constable was killed and another sustained serious injuries after unidentified armed men attacked a police checkpost in the Kank area of Mastung district. Police reported that the attackers opened fire on the post before engaging in an exchange of gunfire with the personnel stationed there.

Constable Izzatullah tragically lost his life during the assault, while Constable Naseebullah was left with serious injuries. The body of the deceased and the injured constable were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical examination and subsequent handover to their respective families after completing the necessary legal procedures.

In response to the attack, police and security forces immediately cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to locate and apprehend the perpetrators. Officials indicated that investigations were underway to identify the individuals responsible for the attack.

Expressing his condolences, the Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister on Information, Shahid Rind, mourned the martyrdom of Constable Izzatullah. In a statement, Mr. Rind assured the bereaved family of his support and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured constable. He reaffirmed that the police had bravely confronted the attackers and emphasized that such "cowardly attacks" would not undermine the government's commitment to upholding peace in Balochistan.

Mr. Rind assured that the sacrifices made by police and other law-enforcement personnel would not be in vain, as efforts were being made to maintain peace and stability across the province. He stated that all resources were being utilized to ensure the safety and protection of citizens throughout Balochistan.
