Anchorage Digital Adds Support for Frgmnt’s fUSD as Stablecoin Protocol Targets Institutions

Digital asset management firm Anchorage Digital has expanded its services to support Frgmnt’s fUSD stablecoin as part of a move to make decentralized finance infrastructure more accessible to institutions. Anchorage Digital will allow clients to hold, mint, stake, unstake and redeem fUSD through its platform, eliminating the need for separate custody arrangements.

Frgmnt, built on Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 network Base, positions this partnership as part of a broader effort to bring decentralized finance infrastructure to institutional users. Frgmnt CEO Aurélien Roussel stated that institutions should have access to onchain financial products through infrastructure that meets their operational and custody requirements.

Frgmnt operates two assets, fUSD and sfUSD, with fUSD minted against USDC and staked to generate sfUSD, providing exposure to rewards from the protocol's strategies. Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered digital asset bank, provides custody, staking, trading and settlement services to institutional clients. Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley noted that supporting Frgmnt gives clients another way to access onchain opportunities through trusted institutional infrastructure.

The partnership allows Frgmnt to reach a different class of users, including corporate treasuries and fintechs, and tests whether yield-generating stablecoin products can gain traction among institutions seeking onchain exposure without abandoning traditional custody and operational frameworks.
