1VERSE turns claw-machine frustration into new track 'LOOP'

K-pop boy group 1VERSE has unveiled a new track called LOOP, which ingeniously transforms the common frustration of a failed claw-machine attempt into an electrifying electronic pop anthem. This marks their first release since January, as the group cleverly turns a mundane moment of playful exasperation into a fast-paced rhythm that resonates globally. The song was released at noon Friday in South Korea, with the trio of Kenny, Nathan, and Aito contributing to the lyrics and composition.

Drawing inspiration from the cycle of reaching for a prize, failing to grasp it, and the instinct to try again once, LOOP employs arcade-inspired electronic sounds and a tense, game-like progression to encapsulate the allure of persistent failure. Michelle Cho, CEO of Singing Beetle, the group's label, explained that the song delves into how a minor expectation can morph into an insurmountable challenge as repetitive efforts create an ever-tightening cycle that becomes increasingly difficult to break free from.

Nathan shared that the song evokes memories of playing a claw machine at an arcade, where each missed prize fuels the determination to make another attempt. Kenny added that he personally struggles with the repetitive nature of claw machines, making the song's theme deeply relatable to him.
