‘You’ve got it wrong guys’: English protestors mistake PAK U19 team for asylum seekers

England's Under-19 cricket team was mistaken by anti-immigrant protesters for asylum seekers, sparking confusion in Portsmouth. The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) Under-19 side, who were touring for their series in England, arrived at the Marriott hotel where masked protesters gathered. The incident was quickly clarified by Reform councillor George Madgwick who called the hotel to explain the team's identity.

The team had already lost their first Youth Test match and were beginning well in the One-Day games against England. In response, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reached out to the PCB to review security measures for the remainder of the tour. The teams are scheduled to play three more Youth ODIs between September 12 and 16.

Meanwhile, the senior Pakistan team, led by Babar Azam, had a poor start to their series with a weak first innings total of 133.
