Wanita Umno draws 5 red lines for political cooperation

Wanita Umno leader Noraini Ahmad has outlined five key principles for any political cooperation with other parties. At the party's general assembly, she stated that Umno must not compromise its fundamental values under any circumstances. The first red line is not to sacrifice the foundation of the party's struggle. The second is to avoid compromising the party's dignity.

The third is to prevent the erosion of national stability. The fourth red line is to ensure Malaysia's plural society remains intact. Finally, Noraini emphasized that the party's grassroots voice must never be overlooked.

She affirmed that Umno is open to forming alliances with any party but stressed the importance of maintaining the party's identity. Noraini stressed that working within a coalition should not diminish Umno's political voice. She cautioned that while cooperation is necessary for national stability, it should not be allowed to erode the party's core identity. Noraini highlighted that Umno entered a unity government to serve national interests, but the party must continue to strengthen itself.

She further explained that a coalition arrangement should not lead to excessive concessions that might suggest Umno has no strong position on issues affecting people's lives. Noraini acknowledged the importance of compromise but warned against losing the party's unique position. She concluded by saying that while collaboration is possible, the party's seats and voice must not diminish.
