He claimed that two firefighters, fearing the U.S. Steel Building could collapse, lifted him and carried him away for safety.

However, the White House has not provided any evidence to substantiate this claim. Trump subsequently acknowledged during a social media post that he was present in New York "right after this happened," but not on the same day as the collapse. This clarification has been central to the ongoing debate. The discrepancy in timing, as evidenced by Trump's initial statement, has prompted scrutiny over the veracity of his rescue narrative.

The White House has not provided any evidence to support the rescue story, and alternative reports suggest that Trump was at Trump Tower on the day of the attacks, viewing the second plane strike from a window.
