Three suspects arrested in Alam Megah murder case, police thank public for vital leads

Selangor police have apprehended three suspects out of seven in the Alam Megah murder case, according to Datuk Shazeli Kahar, the chief of the Royal Malaysia Police. The arrests took place between September 4 and 7, following tips from the public once the suspects' photographs were released last Friday. The remaining four suspects are still at large.

Shazeli emphasized the police's gratitude towards the public and media for their role in aiding the arrests. In a separate investigation under Section 148 of the Penal Code, no new arrests have been made yet. Shazeli previously disclosed that a fight in Taman Alam Megah, resulting in a man's death, was likely due to a feud between two secret societies.

He also pointed out that the decision to build a new police station in Puncak Alam should not be solely based on the discovery of drug labs. Factors like population density and crime trends should be considered. Shazeli noted that the police, in collaboration with the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department and patrol squads, have intensified patrols in the area to deter criminal activities.
