Special panel on Felda to submit report to PM at month-end

A special committee tasked with examining Felda's strategic plan for the years 2025-2030 is set to deliver an interim report to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim by the end of the month. This advisory panel, comprised of prominent government policy advisors, convened six times last year to scrutinize various aspects of Felda, such as the delisting of FGV Holdings Bhd and governance issues in procurement and investment within eight flagged assets.

The committee, co-chaired by Ahmad Fuad Ali and Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, will present its findings and suggestions for improvements to Anwar. Despite serving as an advisory body, the committee's recommendations will not supersede Felda's existing governance structures, with fiduciary duties remaining with the board of directors and management.

The committee's formation comes after Anwar instigated the creation of a strategic plan and 2025-2030 roadmap for Felda, aiming to secure a brighter future for its settlers and warranting significant transformation within the organization.
